While seated you can either be active (sit in) or passive (sit out). Until you click on sit in you will not take part in the game (although you can follow what is going on and join the conversation). Once you are active, you participate in each new hand until you click on sit out.
The action buttons will automatically appear when it is your turn to act.
The buttons
The following control buttons concern your participation in the game:
- Sit in = Join the game and receive cards.
- Buy Chips = You can add additional chips if you have enough funds in your account. (Cash games only).
- Hand History = Allows you to view the previous hands from the current session.
- Lobby = Brings the poker room lobby to the foreground. You remain seated at any table you are playing at.
- Sit Out = Keep seat at the table but not play.
- Leave Now = Leave the table.
- Always Post Blinds = Will pay the blinds automatically when it’s your turn. This will speed up play for you and the other players.
- Wait for Big Blind = Will only appear if you are sitting out. Click this if you want to wait for the big blind to get to your position at the table before you join in.
- Always Muck Cards = If you ‘muck’ your cards it means that you wont show the other players what you had at the end of a hand. This does not apply when all of the players involved in a hand are all in.
Note: the buttons above can be minimised during play by clicking the arrows on the left and right sides of the action bar.
The following action buttons accessibility will change according to the available options during the game.
Fold = Will fold your current cards.
Call = Will match the current bet.
Bet = Will be a cash value; if you are the first to act you can choose the starting bet.
Raise = Will allow you to increase the previous bet.
Check = Will let you wait until everyone else has bet before you have to make your decision (can only use if no one has bet before in that round.
Bet Slider = There is a bet slider underneath the action buttons that allows you to increase/decrease the value of your bet. Alongside the slider there are quick selection buttons which allow you to quickly bet ½ the pot, ¾ of the pot, the pot value or All in.
Decision time
There is a time limit on how long you can think before deciding. Once a dialog box appears, you have roughly 20 seconds to make your choice. If you fail to act within that time, your hand will be automatically check/folded.
Disconnections
Legitimate disconnections (ex. caused by network problems) will make you All-In, which means that your cards will stay in the game, but you will not be eligible to win more than what was in the pot when you last made a move.
Also note that there is a limit of 3 All-Ins per 24 hour period. After that your hand will no longer be protected. That limit is used in order to stop people from abusing the all-in system, by deliberately going All-In. You will see the number of All-Ins you have left for the day when you arrive at a table.
Player’s Notes
Left click on a player and a small menu will appear. Select the Edit Notes option to bring up a notes window. You can then enter notes about that particular player. To read your notes, simply click on the notes icon in the bottom right corner of the player’s information box and your notes will appear.
